Pedestrian and Bicycle Ramp Study
In 2016, the City of Waukegan adopted the Waukegan Lakefront Active Implementation plan. One of its key recommendations was a link from Waukegan’s Central Business District (CBD) to the recently environmentally cleaned harbor. The goal of the plan is to make the Waukegan harbor a premiere water recreation and entertainment district that also embraces industry. Coinciding with the recommendation from the plan was a recommendation from a CMAP study to connect the CBD to the regional bike trail network.
DSC developed a concept plan for a new pedestrian and bicycle bridge that addresses accessibility concerns to the local METRA station as well as links the CBD to the harbor.
